Good News for Events Sector Haulage Firms

The Government has agreed to introduce dual registration to help specialist events hauliers who undertake journeys between the UK and the EU. This means that hauliers will be able to have their vehicles exempted from paying Vehicle Excise Duty when operating on their GB operator licence in the UK; undertake journeys in the UK using their GB operator licence and in another location using the operator licence for that other location; and complete their journey or journeys without changing vehicles or having journeys limited by market access restrictions on international movements. It includes advice on detection and prevention of potential failure where MCWPs rely on two drive units per mast as the means to ensure safety.
